Services
I am trained in all the major schools of Individual, Couple and Family Therapy.
Specialty areas of therapy I am trained in include Family Constellations Wikipedia and Internal Family Systems (IFS) therapy (Wikipedia). These types of therapies can be used in an individual, couple or family setting.
Specialty Services
Neurofeedback. Neurofeedback is a cutting edge technology that is like taking your brain to the gym. Click on the link and read for yourself. The process directly targets the central nervous system, and yet is completely non-invasive. The process successfully treats many ailments that have been traditionally treated with medications. This is a great alternative to medications. Symptoms that are addressed by the Neurofeedback process are: memory problems, poor performance on tasks, insomnia and other sleep problems, depression, anxiety, difficulty paying attention, hyperactivity, addictions, migraines, catching colds and infections, irritability, and feeling stressed and overwhelmed.
Individual Therapy
My style entails two main components to this mode of therapy; these components are used in conjunction with one another.
First I help the client to more deeply understand and interpret their family and circumstantial dynamics. I also support the client in an experiential manner, which means to assist the client in being more fully aware of their feelings, thoughts and overall general experience in the present moment. This combination of heightened internal and external awareness allows the client to have more conscious freedom of choice in their lives.
One of the experiential therapies I have training in is called Family Constellations. This is a phenomenological approach which means that it allows the client to understand the way in which one perceives and interprets events and one's relationship to them. This approach often uses movement or visual exercises as part of the experience.
Couples and Family Therapy
This mode of therapy is used to treat the relationship of the couple instead of each individual. In this approach there is often an emphasis on how the system of the couple or family function. This approach is sometimes supported by the aforementioned experiential approaches.
